Surfing and Kiteboarding

Surfing
Sidi Kaouki is without doubt one of the most under rated surf destinations in Morocco, it has something for everyone from barreling right handers at the famous La Grotte, punchy beach breaks on Azrou to long board friendly slabs and reefs in Taguenza. Its wild coastline offers five main spots; La Grotte, La Couronne, La Bouteille, The Marabout (Kaouki village) and L'Oued. All these spots can get busy with locals and tourists alike and each has her own personality. There's Kms of wild uninterrupted beach and its still possible to catch waves alone if your experienced enough to read the ocean. Beware the swell can be fierce in Sidi Kaouki with strong currents, deserted beaches and rocky slabs, over 2m it changes and can become pretty challenging for all but the most experienced surfers. There are no lifeguards outside of The Marabout in summer.... Take care.
The locals are a great bunch but they can be pretty hostile to those who arrive with an attitude or get a bit hungry at the peak, be aware and humble and always say hello before dropping in. Respect goes a long way as they've been caretaking the beach and ocean here for 20 years plus so please take this into consideration when in the water.

The other great thing about being based in Sidi Kaouki is you have the Moroccos finest wave in Safi 2.5 hrs north with KMs of untouched coast in-between and all the crazy points of Taghazout the same distance south. Half way between Kaouki and Agadir is Imsouane which has to be one of the best long boarding waves in Africa & Europe and possibly one of the best spots to learn in the world, its an easy 1hr 15mins drive so a perfect day trip for a group of all levels.
We work with several local businesses in Kaouki for lessons, equipment hire and advice.

Kiteboarding and Windsurfing
The Sidi Kaouki region is a top destination in North Africa for wind-powered water sports. From May to September, strong summer winds create ideal conditions for enthusiasts. Essaouira Bay serves as the perfect hub for beginners, while Moulay Bouzarqtoune to the north and Sidi Kaouki to the south provide more challenging conditions and stunning backdrops for experienced adventurers seeking a thrill.

Sidi Kaouki
Sidi Kaouki boasts outstanding summer conditions for wind-driven board sports, with its expansive sandy beaches facing the open Atlantic Ocean, perfect for those with foundational skills aiming to progress. It’s a sanctuary for seasoned enthusiasts craving the solitude of kilometers of deserted shoreline. The striking foothills of the Atlas Mountains to the south and the cliffs of Cap Sim to the north form a stunning backdrop for thrill-seekers. Consistent strong offshore and cross-offshore winds, paired with unpredictable wind swells, dominate in summer, so exercise caution—don’t venture out alone with out local advice unless you’re highly familiar with the area.
It's possible to learn Kiteboarding, Windsurfing and kite foiling in Sidi Kaouki depending on the conditions. Equipment and advice is best found at BoujXsports. It's run by a former International windsurf champion Boujmaa Guilloul. He has a rich history surfing the world's biggest waves and competing at a top level.
